The architecture answers most of the design and green building qualities with two simple moves, relationships and adjacencies; enclosing space without creating a barricade to the outside. When a building is sited right in the middle of a vineyard, the vineyard should be embraced. However, there is a fine line between embracing a field of grapes as opposed to being drowned by them and we have accomplished that by elevating the building slightly and creating a dual axis orientation within a symmetrical approach. Using that ideal, every room in the house has at least one or more spectacular views of the vineyard and the surrounding countryside.
